Exploring Opportunities for Remote Work and Digital Entrepreneurship Among PwDs in Oman
摘要
This research paper examines the opportunities for remote work and digital entrepreneurship for disabled individuals in Oman. This paper aims to explore the remote working opportunities for disabled people in Oman and, thereby, opportunities for promoting digital entrepreneurship among them. For this, the available information and statistics on disabled people and the opportunities for digital inclusivity in Oman are explored. An attempt was also made to analyse any skill assessments that have been done among PwDs, especially in remote working skills or digital marketing. The data is collected from secondary sources. The paper examines the current state of employment opportunities, educational and training programs, and existing frameworks and opportunities for promoting remote work among PwDs. The results suggest that the existing training services are mainly focused on vocational skills and hardly any skill assessment studies have been conducted on the digital skills required for remote work, though Oman has wide opportunities for the inclusion of PwDs in digital employment. Thus, a potential gap has been identified in the skill training and assessment of PwDs. The authors aim to bridge this gap by developing a skill assessment tool in digital marketing and providing training in this field as the second phase of this project.
