This study aims to make healthcare practitioners aware about the sustainability practices in the healthcare organizations and study the impact of sustainability practices on competitiveness, with a focus on the Eastern Health Cluster in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Based on a quantitative approach, an online survey was distributed among employees from the Eastern Health Cluster in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire was adapted from the 17 sustainable development goals by the United Nations and approved by the administration of the Eastern Health Cluster in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS and the obtained results show that overall, the competitiveness of healthcare organizations is affected by the sustainability practices and specifically by the social sustainability practices. The proposed framework is developed to make healthcare providers and mainly the employees in the Eastern Health Cluster alert about how to evaluate their current sustainability practices and improve the competitiveness of the healthcare sector as a part of achieving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
