SERS Application of Titanium Dioxide Based Nanomaterials in Health and Environmental Monitoring
摘要
This chapter explores the innovative combination of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanomaterials with surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technology, highlighting their significant impact on enhancing detection sensitivity, specificity, and versatility. TiO2, is a versatile semiconductor known for its stability and photocatalytic properties. TiO2-based SERS substrates are highly effective and capable of detecting a wide range of analytes at ultra-low concentrations. TiO2 alone and when combined with various plasmonic metals show enhanced SERS sensing due to charge transfer and electromagnetic enhancement mechanisms. In the context of health monitoring, TiO2-based SERS substrates are enabling rapid and accurate detection of viruses and bacteria, paving the way for early diagnosis. Their ability to provide detailed molecular fingerprints and perform real-time, non-destructive analysis is revolutionizing clinical diagnostics and research. In environmental monitoring, TiO2-based SERS platforms are enhancing the detection and quantification of volatile organic compounds, dye molecules, and pharmaceuticals in diverse environmental matrices. This advancement supports more effective pollution control and environmental protection efforts.
