Howard Odum and the Evolution of the Maximum Power Principle
摘要
This chapter explores H. T. Odum’s development of the maximum power principle (MPP), including its relation to systems ecology, speed and efficiency, feedback loops, the pulsing paradigm, the quality of energy, and the maximum entropy production principle. This chapter reviews the evidence that supports the MPP and considers criticisms of it. Finally, this chapter discusses Odum’s use of the MPP to critically analyze moral and religious values.
