Study and Optimization of DEG-1 Content in Epoxy Paint for Product Quality Maintenance

A study was conducted to explore the effects of incorporating the reactive modifier DEG-1 into epoxy paint, whether for initial painting or for maintenance purposes. The goal was to identify the optimal concentration of DEG-1 to achieve the desired paint properties. Key attributes of quality paint include high glossiness, enhanced film hardness, improved impact resistance, reduced abrasion, and controlled film thickness. Four concentration levels of DEG-1 were examined: 0%, 2%, 4%, and 8%. Utilizing the LOPCOW (LOgarithmic Percentage Change-driven Objective Weighting) method, weights were assigned to different paint film properties. Various optimization techniques, including RAWEC (Ranking of Alternatives with Weights of Criterion), SAW (Simple Additive Weighting), PIV (Proximity Indexed Value), and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution), were employed to rank these concentration options. Across all methods, blending 8% of DEG-1 into the epoxy paint emerged as the optimal choice, while the 2% concentration yielded the least satisfactory results.
