This chapter is concerned with the planning for the project and commences once the project has been authorized. A project board is set up to oversee the project and a project manager is appointed to manage the project. The planning involves defining the approach to the project, defining the scope of the project, identifying and managing risk, preparing the project plan and schedule, staffing the project, and so on.
