Nowadays, service robots are more and more often used by the medical facilities in the disinfection process. Medical disinfection robots use different disinfection methods, each one with its own advantages and disadvantages, like ultraviolet radiation, disinfectant sprays, hydrogen peroxide or chlorine compounds in order to perform the disinfection of surfaces, air and water. This paper presents the main disinfection methods used by current disinfection robots and how each one of these is more or less effective against different bacteria and viruses.
