Within this paper, a study has been carried out, aiming to optimize the geometrical and technological parameters of the WEDM technologies used in progressive dies manufacturing. This optimization is the main aim of our study. The objectives of the study are: to create a generalized and parameterized geometric CAD model of the die plate, to carry out a static analysis, to use finite element method within this geometrical model and to optimize the tag size with respect to the dimensions of the circular pocket (radius and height) using a Taguchi analysis, in order to obtain minimum values for von Mises equivalent stresses. The results of the paper highlight the factors that most influence the response function. The nomograms and regression equations could be a practical guide in selecting the length of the tag under given conditions.

摘要
