The Test Bench for Determining Impact of Polymer Housing Material on the Bearing's Internal Friction

The test bench for research of the influence of housing material on internal friction of the idler bearing is presented in this paper. Different internal friction is the consequence of different temperature field caused by various housing materials and heat conductivity coefficients respectively. The test bench was created by the special modification of the existing pulley test bench in the laboratory LIMES. Several radial loads and rotational speeds were applied to the test bench. The results of temperature and internal resistance force were monitored and recorded for the whole period until both variables reached stationary stage.
