Minimally invasive thoracic surgery is rapidly evolving since the advent of multiportal and uniportal approaches. Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) offers enhanced visualisation and is effective in complex mediastinal, thoracic outlet, and diaphragmatic procedures. RATS provides high-definition 3D vision with the ability to record procedures for virtual reality training. In endo wrist movement, surgeon dexterity is enhanced with seven degrees of free, facilitating access to challenging anatomical regions. The use of RATS also brings the challenges of higher initial costs, requirements for learning to ensure the surgeon is competent, early increased operative times and loss of tactile feedback.

摘要
