Addressing the multiple crises of our times needs building partnerships. As a cross-cutting theme, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) goal 17 relates to all the other 16 fields of action and still stays within a “more of the same” frame of wealth creation and market-oriented growth strategies. Commons and commoning perspectives are discussed as an alternative and a potential for a paradigm shift toward sustainability and the common good. While Elinor Ostrom addressed the collective “governing of the commons,” a social practice-oriented commoning perspective focuses on alternative organizing patterns. As a commoning organization, the Venezuelan meta-cooperative Cecosesola works beyond market and state and intervenes in the present discourse. How can emergent and intentional organizational learning support the multiple challenges of such epistemic organizing? The pattern language of commoning has been designed as a methodology to help commoning organizations on their epistemic path creation towards social togetherness, peer governance, and care economy. As a transformation methodology, it also becomes relevant for learning and professionalization in Higher Education.
