This chapter discusses the subject of standards of conduct and other specific integrity regulations for Members of the European Parliament. Over the years an anti-corruption framework has been developed in slow motion. The European Parliament established standards of conduct and other specific integrity regulations, following several serious corruption scandals. The Qatar corruption scandal in 2023 provided the latest wake-up call to act decisively and to shape an effective integrity policy. Yet, while reform of the integrity rules in 2023 represents a step forward, the results so far have been too meagre.
