摘要
Louise and I had decided to participate in a one-day conference (June 11, 2016) on British child migration at the Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, in London. The conference was organized in connection to an exhibition “On Their Own: Britain’s Child Migrants”—a collaboration between the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney and the Merseyside Maritime Museum in Liverpool—but reorganized and newly curated for the V & A. The previous year, I had attended a Rhodesia Fairbridge reunionRhodesia Fairbridge Memorial College (The) (RFMC)reunions, which was organized in Liverpool to enable the former Faibridgians to collectively visit the child migration exhibition.
