Orthotropic steel bridge decks are composed of thin steel plates, and when loaded with vehicles on decks, complex three-dimensional displacements occur, resulting in various fatigue cracks at various locations. This chapter describes fatigue cracks in orthotropic steel decks occurred in Japanese steel bridges, their causes, and repair and retrofitting measures for them.
