Lung ultrasound can be helpful in rapidly identifying lung consolidations and excluding other processes such as pleural effusions, pulmonary edema, and pneumothorax. The use of point-of-care ultrasound for the investigation of pneumonia is increasingly common. This chapter describes the use of lung ultrasound for the evaluation of lung consultation and pneumonia.
