The Role of Discourse in Constructing Our Political Realities
摘要
This chapter outlines the theoretical underpinnings of the book, focusing on the role of critical constructivism in informing the research undertaken here. It also underscores the relationship between power, discourse, and the production of truth. This relationship maps onto the analysis commenced within the case studies as the various shifts in representational privilege and the sites of productions’ interactions within these moments of discursive fixity are deconstructed and demonstrated. Further to this, framing theory is drawn upon which delineates the junctures at which shifts in power would be expected to emerge and the potential these shifts have to affect the representational realities of conflicts.
