Photography as a New Art Medium: Early Experiments
摘要
The emergence of photography within the gallery space in Iran marked a significant moment in the evolution of this medium, as explored in this chapter. Beginning with diverse experimentation with various photographic methods, this stage culminates with matured photography projects during the 1970s. These early experiences laid the foundation for many contemporary methods of photographic expression in Iran. Often characterized as an experimental phase, this period witnessed numerous exhibitions and works that adhered to clichéd subjects, themes, and compositions. However, a few photographic works or series emerged as exceptional and are worthy of our attention and analysis.
