The main drivers for writing this book are our beliefs that knowledge management (KM) should play a more substantial role in addressing the developments of recent years and their consequences. We are convinced that these developments have a decisive impact on KM, its perception, discussion and interpretation. Indeed, we have already entered a new era prompted by drivers, dynamics, and forces that we do not understand entirely yet. Entering the fourth decade of scholarly contributions and implementation in organizations, let’s agree that KM is not a fad, once and for all.
