This paper presents a comprehensive exploration of the application of blockchain technology in healthcare, specifically focusing on centralizing patient medical records. Through a literature review and analysis of real-world initiatives, we examine the potential of blockchain to address the shortcomings of existing systems. Blockchain’s key characteristics, such as decentralization, data immutability, and cryptographic security, offer a unique framework for enhancing data security, improving interoperability among healthcare providers, and empowering patients to take control of their health information.
