Wild Boars Repellent and Monitoring System For Open Space Areas Using IoT Approach

The presence of wild boars specifically named Sus scrofa in the forests of Peninsular Malaysia poses a challenge in maintaining clean and safe open spaces. Wild boars are adaptable omnivores that consume various types of plants, fruits, nuts, and vegetation. As a consequence, their digging and rooting behaviors can alter the composition of plant species and damage the soil. Additionally, their consumption of seeds and crops can threaten agricultural activities and recreational facilities. Due to the extensive areas involved, traditional methods such as fencing are financially impractical for preventing their entry in any space. Thus, to handle the aforementioned issues, this project proposes the development of a system that is designed to repel wild animals in open spaces specifically in golf courses. The system aims to reduce the damage caused by the intrusion of wild boars and decrease their presence on golf courses. By implementing an effective and targeted repellent framework, the project seeks to protect golf course infrastructure, minimize financial losses, and enhance the overall experience for golfers. The repellent methods are used to deter wild boars from specific areas, considering their preferred habitats and diets. Also, this project aims to balance wildlife conservation with the preservation of open spaces for human use through environmentally friendly approaches. This project has been successfully implemented which contributed to the sustainable management of wild boar populations and maintain a harmonious balance between human recreation and wildlife.
