This activity emerged as a variation on an improv game “A-Z” where an ensemble tells a story where the first sentence begins with the letter “A,” the second sentence begins with the letter “B,” and so forth. We decided to try telling an A-Z story of higher education that responds to the following question: What are our thoughts, hopes, dreams for higher education? Rather than create a story, we (Amy, Crystal, Ed, Gwen, and Luke) offered words and phrases to answer the question that spanned the English alphabet. We tossed out as many words and phrases for each letter (including repetitions, variant spellings of words, and neologisms!) until someone implicitly edited the scene by offering a word or phrase beginning with the next letter.
