Miniaturized Patch Antenna Design for Millimeter-Wave (37–40 GHz) Application
摘要
A compact planar antenna design for millimeter-wave communication in the frequency band from 37 to 40 GHz range is presented in this work. For faster speed and better connectivity in the future generation of mobile networks, millimeter-wave antennas are needed. The suggested planar antenna structure has a symmetric U-slot cut at the top of the patch, utilizing a Rogers RT/duroid 5880 substrate with a dielectric constant of 2.2 and a thickness of 0.381 mm. It performs well with an S11 value of −36 dB, a gain of 7.7 dB, and a radiation efficiency above 99%. It features a wide bandwidth of 3 GHz, ensuring reliable performance at high frequencies. These attributes make it ideal for enhancing 5G communication systems in countries such as South Korea, China, and Japan, supporting applications like beamforming, spatial diversity, and high-capacity data transmission.
