A research approach based on the analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Quality function deployment theory (QFD) was developed to address the issue of bacteria growth caused by indoor humidity in southern China, with the goal of improving the comfort and operational efficiency of household dehumidifiers. The target user's needs are prioritized and given a weight using the AHP approach. The weight calculation and consistency test are then applied to the score. The House of Quality chooses the design aspects that best suit the demands of the user by translating their requirements into design features. The research findings and design methodology are integrated to create a wall-mounted home dehumidifier that may be used in the living room, bedroom, or bathroom. The user satisfaction is assessed using a 7-point Likert scale approach to confirm that the design scheme is feasible. According to the research, this approach can help designers begin with the demands of the user, and the design process can serve as a guide for creating home items in regions with particular climates.
