Among the 200 Herpes viruses, only 9 are pathognomonic for humans (HHV) and are responsible for various blistering diseases, for Burkitt lymphoma, Kaposi sarcoma and other entities. The human papilloma viruses (HPV) also are a large group of various types, inducing growth of warts and other epidermal proliferations. Other viruses, affecting the skin, are parvo-, coxsackie-, polyoma-, ortho- and parapoxviruses. Moreover, there are several diseases of unknown pathogenesis, in which a viral cause has been discussed (i.e. Lichen planus).

摘要
