Newton, Lagrange, Hamilton, Noether: A Very Brief Look at Classical Mechanics
摘要
In this chapter we discuss the mechanics of a finite collection of particles in space subject to forces. We use this simple situation as a vehicle to introduce Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics with a few examples. We include and apply (and prove) Noether’s Theorem, a foundational result in modern physics and a capstone result of this book.
