Weed Waste Management: Waste-To-Wealth Approach

The need for waste management is primarily fueled by the growing volume of trash resulting from urbanization, lifestyle changes, and the migration of significant populations from rural to urban areas. In order to successfully manage solid waste, ongoing efforts have been made to recycle and repurpose plant weed. The technique by which organic waste is bio composted using earthworms and bacteria to stabilize organic matter is called vermicomposting. Vermicompost, the finished product of this procedure, is beneficial for sustainable agriculture and helps to enrich soil. Transforming trash into wealth is the main goal of the current inquiry. The primary focus of this study is on the creation of vermicompost using water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) that is harvested from the local perennial Sambhaji tank in Solapur and applied to a commercial crop. The commercial crop groundnut's noteworthy yield demonstrates the widespread application of vermicomposting in agriculture, offering a perspective and strategy for organic farming. The findings of our study indicate that vermibiotechnology is a viable and environmentally that sustainable technology can effectively transform waste materials into bioenergy. Aquatic vegetation overuses freshwater bodies, causing infestation of aquatic weeds. We further require an appropriate weed waste management programme.
