Novel manufacturing technologies aim to overcome the restrictions of state-of-the-art processing to ignite market-changing products. One example is represented by multi-material additive manufacturing (AM). The potentials of state-of-the-art AM are, for example, complex part production, light-weight design, and the absence of tooling. By extending the material spectrum through multi-material AM, new potentials are added such as strategically altered mechanical properties and/or the introduction of secondary part properties such as thermal and electrical conductivity.

摘要

Novel manufacturing technologies aim to overcome the restrictions of state-of-the-art processing to ignite market-changing products. One example is represented by multi-material additive manufacturing (AM). The potentials of state-of-the-art AM are, for example, complex part production, light-weight design, and the absence of tooling. By extending the material spectrum through multi-material AM, new potentials are added such as strategically altered mechanical properties and/or the introduction of secondary part properties such as thermal and electrical conductivity.
