Veins of the Abdominal Wall
摘要
The embryo has three broad types of veins: cardinal, umbilical, and vitelline (Ilina and Lilley 2019). The veins of the systemic circulation are derived from the cardinal veins; a portion of the inferior vena cava (IVC), along with the portal venous system, is derived from the vitelline veins of the abdominal wall, which drain into the systemic veins.
