This chapter considers systems that can be repaired. We consider two cases: First, we study systems with observable failures that are repaired as soon as a failure occurs. A repair time distribution \(R_e\) describes the time it takes to repair the component. Second, we discuss systems with unobservable failures, also called hidden or unrevealed failures. These components are periodically tested, and, if the component has failed, it is repaired immediately.

摘要

This chapter considers systems that can be repaired. We consider two cases: First, we study systems with observable failures that are repaired as soon as a failure occurs. A repair time distribution \(R_e\) describes the time it takes to repair the component. Second, we discuss systems with unobservable failures, also called hidden or unrevealed failures. These components are periodically tested, and, if the component has failed, it is repaired immediately.
