Cytomegaly (CMV)
摘要
Cytomegaly is a prevalent viral infection that can lead to serious consequences for pregnant women and their newborns. Approximately 1–4% of women experience primary infection during pregnancy, with the potential for transmission to the fetus. The transmission rate increases with gestational age; however, the severity of the disease is inversely related to the duration of pregnancy. Around 15–20% of infected infants may develop sequelae, including hearing loss, intellectual disabilities, and developmental delays. Preventive measures, such as limiting contact with young children and practicing frequent hand hygiene, can help mitigate the risk of infection. Routine screening for CMV during pregnancy is not typically recommended. Currently, no specific antiviral therapy exists for CMV, although treatments, such as hyperimmunoglobulin and valaciclovir, are under investigation. Further research is essential to substantiate their efficacy and safety.
