Applications of Ultrasound in Emergency

Acute urinary tract disorders are a common complaint of patients who present to the emergency department. Clinical findings are usually sensitive for approaching the treatment along with laboratory findings. Imaging is requested to confirm the diagnosis and evaluate the complications, and finally, for the management. Acute scrotal pain and trauma have already been discussed in specific chapters, so here, we limit the discussion to renal colic, renal infection, hematuria, and urinary retention.
