Urolithiasis is a frequent cause of emergency department visits. Clinical diagnosis is usually confirmed by imaging modalities, and ultrasound is often used as the primary imaging technique because it is non-invasive and available at the bedside. Diagnosis is based on the visualization of kidney stones and hydronephrosis. Color Doppler Twinkling Artifact may be useful to increase the sensitivity of US when stones are difficult to identify.
