Bluetooth is an integrated low-power, short-range wireless technology for computing and communication devices. Bluetooth, like other wireless technology, has presented potential security problems. Everyday attacks on personal data are gaining popularity among hackers. Bluetooth, a type of wireless network for file sharing between two devices that is characterized by low cost, power, complexity, and reliability, is a security protocol and privacy risk. This research study investigates the security flaws of the Internet of Things (IoT) Bluetooth device and the potential implications of Bluetooth hacking. It uses a Kali Linux tool, HCITool, to simulate a reconnaissance attack, which is a necessary step before exploiting vulnerabilities. The simulation explores how the HCITool can be leveraged by attackers to target Bluetooth-enabled users, particularly in public situations, as well as the types of attacks that can be carried out utilizing the tool. The study approach employed is a controlled experimental design that mimics attacks on targeted Bluetooth devices in order to collect data such as the Mac address and conduct ping attacks against them. The chapter also examines the potential repercussions of Bluetooth hacking and the preventative measures available against such attacks. The findings of this study provide individuals or organizations who may be at danger of a Bluetooth attack with useful insights and knowledge, allowing them to better plan for and defend against such attacks.
