This chapter gives a detailed description of the rectus muscle recession procedures. Two conjunctival approaches are presented: fornix and limbal. Your author now uses the Wright hang-back recession with fibrin glue on almost all rectus muscle recessions. It can be used for vertical rectus muscles; however, a nonabsorbable suture should be considered for vertical rectus muscles to prevent stretched scar. In fact, at the time of writing the fifth edition of this atlas, I am now starting to use nonabsorbable 6–0 Mersilene suture for virtually all rectus recessions.
