Deserving (1955–1957)
摘要
Florence Nightingale David was always sad when she finished writing a book. To David, it felt like the death of a close friend. It was hard for her to write that last sentence of the preface, gather up all of her typed pages and put them into a box—this was in 1961, before we had modern desktop computers and the Internet—carry the box to the post office, and send it off to the publisher.
