Revisionary Surgery for Failed Ileal Pouch-Anal Anastomosis
摘要
The popularity of ileal pouch-anal anastomosis in the surgical treatment of ulcerative colitis has created a relatively large populations of patients who develop dysfunction of their ileal pouch. In some cases, restorative pouch surgery is both necessary and possible. This is the largest series to date documenting restorative surgery for ileal pouch-anal anastomosis. The authors emphasize the importance of patient selection to optimize both pouch salvage and functional results.
