In the preceding chapters of Parts VIII and X, extensive information was provided on obesity and LiDo, nutrition, and lymphology. Here, at the end of the “Vademecum Lymphologicum”, practical tips follow for everyday life. Most recommendations in this chapter apply not only to patients with lymphoedema or lipohyperplasia dolorosa but also to everyone who wants to eat healthily and become or stay healthy. An “oil change in the kitchen” makes sense. Therefore, get rid of sunflower, wheat, corn, and safflower oil. Bring on cold-pressed olive oil, flax or hemp oil, or cold-pressed rape seed oil (if not contaminated, so preferably of organic quality). Butter and meat from pasture-raised animals and organic eggs also contain omega-3 fatty acids, as do walnuts, hazelnuts, or almonds. In LiDo, but also in lymphoedema, especially in combination with overweight or obesity, trying a ketogenic, protein-optimized diet is worthwhile. It can reduce the symptoms of LiDo, allows for rapid weight reduction without hunger, and also has an oedema-reducing effect in lymphoedema. Only eat when you are hungry! Rule of thumb: 2 handfuls of vegetables, one portion the size of your palm of protein. Oil or fat as required.

摘要
