Scrutinizing the security of an obfuscation approach is crucial for any defense method. Various attacks have been developed for a specific area of research, and several security metrics have been defined for it. Common security metrics are built based on various parameters, such as output corruptibility, output error rate, distinguishing input patterns, percentage of key bits, and execution time. This section discusses both oracle-guided and oracle-less attacks that can be applied to ReBO. It explains the SAT attack and its variants as part of the oracle-guided attacks and also outlines the oracle-less attacks that can be used. While the majority of known attacks target LL, recent years have seen the development of attacks targeted explicitly at ReBO. These attacks also explore vulnerability analysis but still require more security analysis. In fact, we also prompt the discussion of security analysis of existing technologies and evaluation of various ReBO techniques in this chapter.
