Oral Soft Tissue Biopsy Techniques: An Overview
摘要
An accurate diagnosis is crucial for the effective management of oral mucosal lesions. Tissue biopsy is a common procedure and the gold standard for diagnosing disease, oral or otherwise. It is a surgical procedure in which a tissue sample is removed from a lesion to provide the pathologist with a representative, viable specimen for histopathological interpretation and diagnosis. The word biopsy has its roots in Greek etymology, originating from the words bio (life) and opsin (to see).
