Histopathology of Developmental Anomalies and Anatomical Variants of the Oral Mucosa
摘要
Developmental anomalies and variants of normal oral mucosa may give rise to concerns for patients and they may seek treatment. A thorough knowledge of such lesions by clinicians can avert the need for further investigations and be reassuring for the patient. Notwithstanding, lesions may occasionally require biopsy due to a concerning appearance or because the lesion is symptomatic or interfering with function. This chapter deals with a few developmental oral mucosal lesions and their variants.
