Dental pulp is a soft connective tissue found in the pulp chamber of the crown and root canals. It is derived from the dental papilla during odontogenesis and is responsible for dentine formation. The dental pulp consists of cells, an extracellular matrix of fibres and a ground substance. This chapter briefly describes the histological features of cells and the extracellular matrix of fibres of the dental pulp.
