Broaching is a highly efficient process for producing high-quality parts with precise dimensions. However, process efficiency alone does not guarantee sustainability. To address this, several key factors need to be considered, including process parameters, machine configuration, material and design of the workpiece, and tool characteristics. Several studies have focused on investigating the sustainability of the broaching process and its environmental impact, but the broaching tool has been less studied, even though it determines the geometric and sur-face quality of the broached grooves. To address this gap in the literature, this study compares the performance of three carbide tools for broaching Inconel 718 under identical machining conditions. The aim is to evaluate the selection of tools that align with the machine and workpiece material conditions to maintain a highly efficient process while improving process sustainability.

摘要
