Implementing sustainable lean principles can help tackle several challenges in the textile industry. Value stream mapping (VSM), a methodology used to identify problems such as waste, bottlenecks, and resource utilization in a system, is a tool that is commonly used in both lean and sustainable practices. This study project presents a model that can boost productivity and reduce waste in a textile company. The model begins by using VSM to identify issues in the system. The two most significant issues identified were long setup times and frequent weaving machine stops. To address these issues, the model suggests using SMED and 5S to reduce setup time and TPM to improve equipment availability. All these elements are consolidated into an A3 format to make the model more sustainable. Implementing this model led to an increase in efficiency by 2.18%. This article presents a new model that can enhance plant productivity in the textile industry and promote sustainability.
