It is expected that a growth mindset will make it possible to know how to age well and deal with stressful situations. From a psychological perspective we can consider two types of mental attitude: fixed mental attitude, which generates the urgency to always put ourselves to the test; and progressive or growth attitude, which is based on the belief that our basic qualities are something that we can develop through effort, strategies and help from others. Success can reinforce the feeling of personal competence. Psychological hardiness is understood in the dimensions of self-perceptions of control, commitment, and challenge can help to deal with stressful life events to transform them into positive experiences of human development. In this study we seek to understand how psychological hardiness and mindset towards aging can contribute to healthy longevity. A systematic review of the literature was carried out to integrate existing information, which followed the principles of PRISMA, generating data that helps decision-making and strategies that lead to good practices.

摘要

The conscious adoption of healthy lifestyles throughout life contributes to a healthier existence in old age and provides a potential benefit for the preservation of health and autonomy, enabling healthy, rewarding, and long-lasting aging. Scientific literature has shown how quality of life, well-being, maintenance of mental, physical, and social qualities are directly related to the performance of meaningful and satisfying occupations that facilitate better living. Failure weakens it, increasing the risk of escaping or avoiding adverse situations, which could challenge and make personal competence vulnerable.
