Nepal is highly prone to naturalUAV hazards where the frequency and magnitude of the occurrence of such events have been found to increasing in recent decades. DisasterDisaster risk reduction and management (DRRM)DRRM is of utmost necessity in this country to save lives and properties. While doing so, different forms of frontier technologies are being practiced for risk reduction. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)UAV has rapidly emerged as a promising and highly effective solution for facilitating data collection and enhancing service delivery across all stages of the disasterDisaster cycle, including prevention/mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The complexities of the rugged topography, steep slopes, and difficult terrains in the Nepal Himalayas can be overcome through the versatility of drones as they serve as an easy solution for high-resolution aerial surveys that contribute to enhancing situational awareness.
