This chapter argues that weird wonder is particularly effective when apophatic awe intertwines with unspeakable horror in the context of cosmographic play. It begins by examining connections between apophatic theology, Marxism, and the eco-weird, arguing for a conception of Weird fiction that expands outside the bounds of horror. From there, it develops a model of tabletop role-playing games as cosmographic technologies that assist weirdly wondrous imagination and praxis. The chapter closes by considering the games of David Blandy and his concept of Weirdhope as particularly effective case studies in the wonder-cultivating potential of eco-weird games.

摘要
