摘要

After forty years of analogue film production, Raban’s first two digital films are examined in detail. Based on the Dickens essay Night Walks, The Houseless Shadow, commissioned by the Museum of London, was shown as an installation during the museum’s Dickens and London Exhibition (2011–12). Raban details his methods including the techniques he used to make himself inconspicuous on the streets of London at night. In Time and the Wave, four London events, including the Occupy protests at Saint Paul’s Cathedral and the funeral of Lady Margaret Thatcher, are shown as emblematic of the crisis of late capitalism.
