Focused on the construction and opening of the Millennium Dome, MM is a film poem in 8 stanzas centred around the 1999 total solar eclipse that also includes Raban’s own archive material filmed between 1987–91. About Now MMX constructs a cinematic map of the city observed from the 21st floor of the iconic Balfron Tower in east London. It uses animated time-lapse sequences interspersed with quotidian scenes to build a picture of economic disparity, environmental decline and atmospheric pollution.
