Introduction
摘要
Raban’s childhood and early interests in art, landscape and the qualities of daylight are discussed, particularly in relation to the term ‘nautical twilight’ on which the book’s title is based. The transition from an interest in rural landscape to filming the streets of London, and later, the sea, is considered. Raban discusses some of the principal filmmaking methods and the importance of taking calculated risks in making the work.
