The digitization of healthcare systems, particularly in pediatric care, presents both opportunities and challenges. Traditional Electronic Health Records (EHRs) improve certain healthcare processes but are hampered by significant issues related to data security, interoperability, and accessibility. This paper explores the integration of blockchain technology to address these vulnerabilities, offering a decentralized solution that enhances data integrity and security through cryptographic techniques and smart contracts. We introduce a blockchain-based framework tailored for pediatric healthcare, utilizing Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to uniquely represent and manage each child’s medical history. Our evaluation across four EVM-supported platforms—BNB, Fantom, Celo, and Polygon—demonstrates the framework’s ability to deliver a secure, efficient, and cost-effective solution for managing pediatric medical records. The findings confirm the framework’s adaptability and its potential to revolutionize pediatric healthcare data management by ensuring higher security standards and better accessibility.
